Carrie V. David, 96, Albuquerque, N.M., formerly Burlington, died June 18, 1997.
She was born Aug. 1, 1900, in Chicago to Mr. and Mrs. Martin Schroeder. She spent her early life in Chicago.
She married Alois "Dutch" Vos after World War I and the couple moved to Springfield. The couple then settled in Kansasville, where they worked at the Vos-Daniels general merchandise store. He preceded her in death. She then married Ed David and the couple resided just outside of Burlington. He also preceded her in death.
She was the former postmistress in Kansasville and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Burlington. She was known for her generosity, wisdom and positive attitude.
Survivors include a brother, Martin (Martha) Schroeder, Burlington; stepdaughters, Fifi Jochem, Burlington, Eileen Albright, Rochester; daughters-in-law, Dory Vos, Fort Atkinson, Patricia Vos, Albuquerque; the Jim David family; and other relatives and friends.
She was further preceded in death by sons, Walter and Donald Vos; a step-son, James David; sisters, Susie Seno and Gertrude Mauloff; and brothers, John and Vincent Schroeder.
Cremation and services were held in Albuquerque.
Memorial Masses were suggested.
