Eugene J. Sobbe, 72, 124 Fifth St., Silver Lake, died Tuesday (Sept. 16, 1986) at Columbia Hospital, Milwaukee.
The son of the late Alfred and Katherine (Busch) Sobbe, he was born May 30, 1914 in Burlington.
He spent his early life and attended school in Burlington.
On Oct. 31, 1959, in Prairie du Chien, he married Argia Panknin. The couple lived in Silver Lake after their marriage, moving to Wilmot and living there for 17 years before returning to Silver Lake in 1976.
He formerly had been employed as a heating and air conditioning building mechanic for Trans World Airlines at O'Hare Field, Chicago.
He was a charter member of the Fox Valley Community Church in Paddock Lake and former deacon and treasurer of the congregation, and was a member of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Stacey E., attending the University of Wisconsin-Platteville; a stepson, Michael B. Semler II, Paddock Lake; a brother, Robert, Burlington; a sister, Mrs. George (Lucille) Crowley, Burlington, and four step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Rosella Schneider.
The Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, Burlington, is in charge of arrangements.

Sobbe, of Silver Lake, WI who passed away Sept. 16 at Columbia Hospital, Milwaukee, WI, will be held Friday, Sept. 19 at 11:00 A.M. from Fox Valley Community Church, Paddock Lake. Interment in Wilmot Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 157 S. Pine St., Burlington, on Thursday, Sept. 18 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
