Mr. Albert J. Richter, 87, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, May 27, 1997.
A lifetime resident of the Burlington area, he was born in Burlington on May 12, 1910, to Theodore and Rose (nee: Spieker) Richter. On April 27, 1938, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Burlington, he was united in marriage to Anne Catherine Vogt and had resided in Lyons Township following marriage.
He received his education at Crossway and St. Mary's Grade Schools. He was a Farmer and retired in 1983 as Grounds Keeper for Echo Lake Produce Company. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Burlington and a former member of St. Mary's Holy Name Society.
Surviving are his wife, Anne C. Richter; three daughters, Julianne (John) Raboine, Joy (Roger) Bieneman, and Mary (Daniel) Ketterhagen; two sons, Larry (Mary) Richter and Richard (Barbara) Richter; one daughter-in-law, Marilyn (James) Lois, all of Burlington; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Loretta (Fred) Vogt of Lyons, Sr. Vivian Richter O.P. of Racine, and Lorraine (Robert) Daniels of Kansasville; and one sister-in-law, Elnora Richter of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Joel; one brother, Clarence Richter; and one son-in-law, Dennis Weis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Burlington on Friday, May 30, 1997, at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Michael Petersen officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. with a Prayer Vigil at 7:30 p.m. Memorials suggested to St. Mary's School Incorporated or St. Charles Grade School.
