Passed away on Friday, May 5, 1984, at Memorial Hospital in Burlington, at the age of 55. He was born on January 27, 1929, in Burlington, to John Joseph and Clara Frances (Richter) Tenhagen. His early life and education was in Burlington. He was married on September 15, 1954, in Waukegan, to the former Betty Lou Kelley. Their residence following marriage was in Burlington, where be owned and operated a farm. Mr. Tenhagen was a lifetime resident of the Burlington area and was a member of St. Mary's Church. He served with the U.S. Marines from 1951 to 1953. Surviving are his wife, Betty; two sons, Robert Scott and Michael John, both of Burlington; one step-son, Ronald Dean (Nancy) Sumner of Hammond, IN; two daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy Tenhagen (Ken) Larby of Carrollton, VA, Kelley Ann (David) Keough of Lake Geneva, WI; three grandchildren; one brother, Raymond (Gloria) Tenhagen of Burlington; three sisters, Lucille (Andrew) Lois of Burlington, Kathryn (Donald) Schmidt of Burlington, Rosemary Roanhaus of Burlington; also many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Art Roanhaus. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 29, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Burlington, with Rev. Brian Holbus officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday, May 28, from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the SCHUETTE-DANIELS FUNERAL HOME, 157 S. Pine St., Burlington, with Prayer Vigil at 8:00 p.m. Monday. Memorials to the Cancer Society suggested.
