Lorraine Richter Hunter, 69, of the 7800 block of Lisa Drive, died April 18, 1993, in her home.
Lorraine was born in Madison, S.D. She was retired from Atlantic Division, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Norfolk. She was past president of Blue Ridge Region, International Training and Communications. She was a member and served in various offices in the American Business Women's Association, Attica Toastmistress and Norfolk Gaveliers. She was also a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians, Catholic Golden Agers, American Association of Retired Persons and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, where she had served as a Eucharistic minister. She was the widow of Lloyd B. Hunter.
Survivors include her daughter, Katherine Hunter of Waldorf, Md.; her sisters, Bernice Metcalf of Yuma Ariz., and Mary Ellen Murphy of Trinidad, Colo.; brothers, Francis Richter, Donald Richter, Earl Richter, all of South Dakota, Harold Richter of Lincoln, Neb., and William Richter of Edgerton, Minn.; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of beloved friends.
A wake service will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, Thursday, April 22, at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be conducted Friday, April 23, at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family requests that any memorial donations be made to the Hospice Unit, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
