Leonard Kerkman, 40, of New Munster, died at 4 p. m. Saturday in St. Mary's hospital Racine, where he had been a patient for two weeks.
Mr. Kerkman was born Feb. 12, 1899 at New Munster, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Kerkman. His boyhood was spent in the vicinity, and on Jan. 31, 1924, he was married to Miss Edna Busch in St. Alphonsus' church, New Munster. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Kerkman resided on a farm near New Munster.
Surviving are his widow, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Kerkman; five sisters, Mrs. Hugo Vos of Burlington, Mrs. Richard Foote of Waukegan, Mrs. Catherine Bolongia, Mrs. Sally Douglas and Miss Constance Kerkman of Kenosha; four brothers, Ray, Norbert and Ben of Burlington, and Ted of Racine.
Fneral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Alphonsus' Catholic church, New Munster. Rev. J. J. Pierron, pastor, will officiate, and burial will be in St. Alphonsus' cemetery.
