Argia Panknin Sobbe, 64, 124 Fifth St., Silver Lake, died Thursday (Oct. 26, 1995) at her residence.
The daughter of Arthur and Georgia (Breul) Panknin, she was born Dec. 15, 1930, in Burlington. She attended Riverview Grade School, Silver Lake, and Wilmot High School, and graduating with a bachelor of education degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
On Oct. 31, 1959, she married Eugene J. Sobbe in Prairie du Chien. He preceded her in death on sept. 16, 1986.
An elementary school teacher, she worked at Emmons Grade School, Bristol Grade School, and Pleviak School in the Community Consolidated District of Lake Villa, Ill., retiring after 29 years.
She was a member of Fox Valley Community Church, Paddock Lake, where she was the former secretary-treasurer. She also was a member of the American Federation of Teachers and was a co-founder of the Senior Girl Scout Troop, Silver Lake.
Surviving are her mother, Silver Lake; two sons, Michael B. Semler II, Silver Lake, and Stacey E. Sobbe, Twin Lakes; a sister, Phyllis Paulson, Silver Lake; and four grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Judith L. Thomson.
Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, Burlington, is in charge of arrangements.
SOBBE—Funeral services for the Argia Panknin Sobbe, resident of Silver Lake, who passed away on Thursday, Oct. 26, 1995, will be held at 11:00 A.M. at Fox valley Community Church, Paddock Lake - Rev. Jonathan P. Jameson and Rev. David L. Henriksen officiating. Friends may call on Friday, October 27th from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, Burlington. Also Saturday, Oct. 28th from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. at the Church. Interment will be in Wilmot Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Fox Valley Community Church and Community Baptist Church.
