LYONS
Fred P. Vogt, 92, died Thursday, September 11, 2003, at Mount Carmel Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Burlington.
A lifetime resident, he was born in Lyons Township on March 14, 1911, to John and Elizabeth (nee: Wagner) Vogt. On April 7, 1937, he married Lorretta T. Richter at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Burlington. She preceded him in death on November 21, 2002.
Fred attended St. Joseph's School. He was a Dairy Farmer until retirement, when he worked at Trent Tube in East Troy. He was the Custodian at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lyons. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, loved gardening, and hunting, and was an avid Sheepshead player known as 'Foxy Fred.'
Survivors include daughters, Roselyn M. (Bob) Raboine of Burlington, Carol (Dale) Miller of Burlington, and Eileen (David) Henningfeld of Waterford; sons, Gerald F. (Colleen) Vogt of Merrillan, Richard (Joanne) Vogt of Plain, and Joseph (Amy) Vogt of Lyons; 25 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Sr. Vivian Evelyn Richter of Racine, Lorraine (Robert)Daniels of Brighton, and Ann Richter of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; grandson, David Raboine; and two sisters, Marie Koenen and Eleanor Warren.
A of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lyons on Monday, September 15, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Lyons. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 until 8 p.m. with a Prayer Vigil at 7:30 p.m. Memorials to the American Cancer Society or St. Joseph's Catholic Church Building Fund have been suggested.
