Francis N. Weis passes away at the age of 85, at his home on Friday, October 8, 1999.
Mr. Weis was born on November 12, 1913 at Brighton Township, son of the late William and Drusilla (nee: Griebel) Weis. He received his education at Cross Way, St. Charles Grade School, and Rochester Agricultural School. He was united in marriage to Lunetta E. Daniels on June 29, 1940 at St Francs Xavier Church in Brighton and made his living as a dairy farmer. Francis was a member of St. Charles Church. Francis was very active many groups; former member of the Racine County Farm Bureau, Burlington Knights of Columbus, former member of the Burlington T. S. Fire Dept., AMPI Director for 15 years, officer on the Finance Committee at St. Charles Church for six years and served on the Burlington Township Zoning Committee for five years. He is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel (Judy) Weis, Roger (Kay) Weis, Russell (Debbie) Weis and Clayton (Jeri) Weis, all of Burlington; two daughters and sons-in-law, LuAnn (Joe) Warren of Burlington and Peggy (Paul) Daniels of Atlanta, Ga.; three brothers, Arthur Weis of Independence, Iowa, William (Bettv) Weis and Robert (Sue) Weis, all of Burlington, sister, Marion (Ray "Bud") Richter of Burlington; brothers-in-law, Harry Mich of Racine and Everett (Dottie) Daniels of Brighton; sisters-in-law, Edna Reiter of Bristol, LaVerne of Kenosha and Betty Weis of Burlington; 20 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and special friend, Dorothy Darn Warren of Burlington. Mr. Weis was preceded in death by his wife, Lunetta; son, Jerome Weis; brother, Lloyd Weis; sisters in-law, Doris Mich, Loyola Wack and Grace Weis; granddaughter, Nancy Weis and great granddaughter Chelse Austin Weis.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m., Monday, October 11, 1999 at St. Charles Church in Burlington with Rev. Michael Benham and Rev. Kenneth Mich officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3:30-7 p.m. on Monday. Interment will take place at St. Charles Cemetery, Burlington at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 12, 1999. Memorials to St. Charles School and Burlington Senior Center have been suggested by the family.
