Marie returned Home to the Lord on Monday, March 29, 2010, and reunited with her beloved husband Larry. She died at 6:15 in the morning shortly after praying the rosary with her sons, daughters and eldest granddaughter.
Marie was born Dec. 18, 1924, the third of eight children of William and Chrystal (nee Dixon) Richter, at Silver Lake, Kenosha County. She was re-born in Christ through the Sacrament of Baptism at Holy Name Catholic Church, Wilmot, on Dec. 21, 1924 She attended Riverview Elementary School in Silver Lake and Wilmot High School (Class of 1942). She was united in the Sacrament of Marriage With Lawrence Edward Fait in Holy Name Church on April 15, 1944. with Father Harold O'Connor officiating.
Marie is survived by her grateful children, Dr. Robert (Judy nee Spriggs), James (Judy nee Pihringer), Rev. Thomas, Dr. Gary (Connie nee Reames), Kathleen, JoAnne (Rob) Wasserman, and "good as a son" Rev. Timothy Bickel. She is further survived by her greatly-loved grandchildren, Alison (Carlo) Pedone, Shannon (Arnold) Arrieta, Garrett (fiancee, Christina Clothier) Fait, Christopher (Elizabeth nee Hainstock) Fait, James Fait Jr., Sarah (Drew Saunders) Fait, Jennifer Fait, Ashley Fait, Aubrey Fait, William Fait, Jocelyn Fait and Haley Marie Wasserman. She was greatly blessed to experience the joy born with seven great-grandchildren, Simon, Christian and GainLuca Pedone, Ava, Samuel and Ji-a Fait, and Isabella Rosalina Arrieta, as well as many other family and friends. Her dear brothers and sisters survive her, Gerry (Lorraine) Richter, Dick (Shirley) Richter, Ruth (Ted) Matt, Bill (Mary) Richter and Joanne (Bob) Yerkes; brother-in-law, George (Mitzi) Fait; and sister-in- Law, Virgie (Larry) Schulte.
Preceding her to Eternal Lite are her husband, Larry (1997); her son, William "Billy" (1966); her father (1970); her mother (1988); her father-in-law, Edward Fait (1981); mother-in-law, Sophie Swetz Fait (1987); her dearest aunt, Dorothy Dixon Holtdorf (1989); her brothers, Robert (Fran) Richter (1998) and Lyle (Rosemary) Richter (1990); and many beloved Richter clan cousins.
In sure and certain hope of the resurrection, family and friends are invited to join In the Mass of Christian Burial, commending Marie to the Lord, and to praise God at SAINT MARY'S CHURCH, 108 McHenry St., Burlington, on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at 6:30 in the evening. Mass will be preceded by visitation with the family at church beginning at 3:30 p.m. The facility is handicapped accessible. The burial of Marie's body will be at St. Mary's Cemetery on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at 10 in the morning.
The Fait family wishes to extend their special thanks and prayers of gratitude to those who have brought so many grace-filled gifts to Marie's life. Special thanks to Dr. Joseph Majewski, Dr. Randy Schmidt and the many other healthcare professionals who, since the onset of her serious health challenges in 1989, have cared for Marie so selflessly.
Rather than floral tributes the family wishes to encourage memorials to Saint Mary's Parish in Burlington or to another charity of your choice.
