Elizabeth “Betty” D. Siehoff, 93, of Waterford, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Waterford Senior Living.
Born in Wheatland, Wisconsin on May 3, 1929, she was the daughter of Henry and Clara (nee Epping) Kerkman. She grew up in New Munster and graduated from St. Mary High School. On May 14, 1949 at St. Alphonsus Church in New Munster, she was united in marriage to Robert Siehoff. Following marriage, they lived in Wheatland, farmed and had their daughters. They eventually moved to the Burlington area. Robert preceded her in death on July 16, 1990.
Betty worked as a service representative for TDS Telephone and was a member of St. Mary Church and Choir. She was also a pianist for a ukulele club and pianist in a combo that played at nursing homes. She loved playing the piano, crocheting and reading. She also volunteered at senior centers, playing music and being a companion for respite care guests. After retiring from TDS, she worked in the office at St. Mary Church.
Betty is survived by her children, Darlene (Scott) Vrchota and Nancy (Michael) Meyer; grandchildren, Bill (Beth) Vrchota, Joe (Marie) Vrchota, Justin (Katie) Meyer, Leah (Mikel) Boeve, Christa (Dave) Knepfel and Nathan (Jennifer Wenninger) Meyer; and great-grandchildren, Carter Vrchota, Grant Vrchota, Carson Meyer, Lucas and Wesley Boeve, Valerie and Ross Knepfel, Nora and Nolan Meyer and Olivia Delfosse. Betty would have loved to meet her eleventh great-grandson in April. She is further survived by her brother, Stanley Kerkman and sister-in-laws, Annette Siehoff and Carol Lehsten. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Marcel (Colletta, Marie), Francis (Evelyn), Leon (Rosemary) and James (Arlene) Kerkman; sister-in-laws, Dorothy Kerkman, Bertha (Virgil) and June (Wes); and brother-in-laws, Roman, Donald and Jim.
The family would like to thank Community Care Hospice and Waterford Senior Living for their care and compassion during this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Choir or Waterford Senior Living.
Visitation for Betty will be held Tuesday, December 27 from 3:30PM – 5:30PM at Schuette Daniels Funeral Home, Funeral Mass to follow at 6PM at St. Mary Catholic Church in Burlington. Burial will be Wednesday, December 28 at 10AM at St. Mary Cemetery in Burlington.
