Last Rites Held For J.J. Keegan

John J. Keegan, 68, of Doon, died Sunday, March 1 at the MPC Hospital in Rock Rapids following a six month illness.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 4 (yesterday) at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Rock Valley with the Rev. Jerome Louisch officiating; Rosary was recited at 8:00. p.m. on Tuesday, March 3 in the Porter Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Stan Surma, Gene Schroeder, Vernon Quinn, Martin Cullinan, Robert Buckley and Paul Berry. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery of Rock Valley under the direction of Porter Funeral Home.

Mr. Keegan was born on April 29, 1901 in Lyon County, Ia. He married Francis Mann on November 5, 1929 at Alvord. He was a retired railroad worker.

Survivors are his widow; four sons, Joe and Bill of Doon, Pat of Kansas City. Mo., and Jack of Minneapolis, Minn. four daughters, Mrs. James Breuer of Sheldon, Mrs. Melvin Wilton of Enid. Okla., Mrs. Louis Tysver of Strom Lake, Mrs. Dean Rosenberg of St. James, Minn, one brother, Leo of Martin, S.D. three sisters. Misses May and Elizabeth Keegan of Rock Valley and Miss Eleanor Keegan of Santa Monica, Calif.; 18 grandchildren.
