SCHEMMER-KEEGAN WEDDING
Miss Elvira Schemmer and Mr. Clarence Keegan were united in marriage in St. Mary's church in Rock Valley at 8:30 Wednesday morning, Rev. Father 0'Rielly performing the ceremony, following which, a reception was held at the bride's home in Rock Valley, at which a number of invited guests were present, and a very pleasant time was had by all.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.F. Schemmer. She has lived in Rock Valley practically all her life. She is a graduate of St. Mary's school in Rock Valley, and has been a successful teacher in the schools of Plymouth county for the past few years. She is an accomplished and talented young lady and is greatly admired by all who know her.
The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. James Keegan. He has also lived in this vicinity all his life and is also a graduate of St. Mary's school. He is an industrious young man of the best of habits and has many friends in Rock Valley and vicinity.
The bride and groom left Wednesday evening on their wedding trip, for parts known only to themselves. After their return they will make their home on the. Wattawa farm Southwest of Rock Valley. They have the best wishes of many friends for their future happiness and prosperity.

Mrs. Clarence Keegan
Mrs. Clarence Keegan, 77, of Rock Valley, died Friday (May 22.1981) in a Sioux City hospital of long illness. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic church in Rock Valley. Rev. William Winger officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
The rosary was recited at the Porter funeral home Monday at 8 p.m.
Mrs. Keegan, the former Elvira Schemmer, was born March 30, 1904 in Rock Valley. She was married Feb. 8, 1928 in Rock Valley. The couple farmed in the Rock Valley and Inwood area.
Mrs. Keegan was a 4-H leader in Lyon county 25 years, a member of Catholic Daughters of America and St. Mary guild.
Survivors are her husband; three sons, Robert of Davenport, James W. of Germany and Michael of Los Angeles; four daughters, Mary-Ellen of Le Mars, Mrs. Robert (Jane) Richter of Rock Valley, Mrs. James (Helen) Huffington of Madison, Mo. and Mrs. John (Doris) Kersbergen of San Diego, Calif.; one brother, Walter, of Logan; five sisters, Mrs. Martin Cullinan of Rock Valley, Mrs. Lloyd Kline of St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. Floyd Olson of Cannon Falls, Minn., Mrs. Harold Otterstrom of Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Thomas McIntosch of Pasadena. Calif., and 20 grandchildren.
