Ramona Mueller, Robert B. Lake Married Today
This morning, at 9 Miss Ramona Mueller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mueller, Burlington, became the bride of Robert B. Lake. son of Dr. and Mrs. B. L. Lake, Rockford, Ill. The ceremony was performed at St. Mary's church by Rev. Mark Mueller, brother of the bride, in the presence of immediate relatives and friends. The church was decorated with bridal wreath and calla lilies.
The bride wore a gown of white silk jersey, princess style, with a long train and fingertip veil. She carried a bouquet of white orchids and lilies of the valley, together with a bridal prayer book belonging to the bridegroom's mother, and a crystal rosary, a gift from the bridegroom. She was given in marriage by her father.
Alice Lake, sister of the bridegroom, was maid of honor. Miss Lake wore white embroidered marquisette, with natural flowers in her hair, and carried an arm bouquet of better times roses. Helen Mueller, sister of the bride, as bridesmaid, wore a dress similar to that of the maid honor. She carried an arm bouquet of briar cliff roses.
Paul Mueller, brother of the bride, was best man. Corp. William Wadel was groomsman and Dr. Gerard Rauch and Roy McLaughlin were ushers.
A wedding dinner was served at the Royal Palms, to 40 guests. From 2 to 5:30 there was a reception at the home of the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Lake left today on a week's wedding trip through Michigan. They will be at home to their friends after June 1 at 409 Royal avenue, Rockford, Ill. The bridegroom's parents will give a reception for them there on June 7. Mr. Lake is an engineer graduate of Marquette university and a member of Triangle engineering society. Mrs. Lake is a nurse, recently graduated from St. Anthony's hospital, Rockford, Ill.

Lake, Ramona Mueller - September 6, 1918 - October 7, 2005

Ramona Mueller Lake, formerly of 2718 Black Bridge Rd., died Friday evening, Oct. 7, 2005 at her daughter Mary's home. Ramona was born on Sept. 6, 1918 in Burlington, WI to Francis and Josephine (Schemmer) Mueller. She attended Catholic grade and high schools in Burlington. After high school she graduated from St. Anthony School of Nursing, Rockford, IL in 1942. On May 23, 1942, her brother, Fr. Mark Mueller, married her to Robert B. Lake at St. Mary Church in Burlington. Robert died March 5, 1974. Throughout her career in nursing, Ramona cared for the sick privately in their home and at Rockford Memorial Hospital for many years. After Robert died in 1974, she moved to Janesville, WI and completed her career at Rock Haven Nursing Home. Ramona is a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and its 50+ Club, the IL & WI Nurses' Association and was a 50 year plus Red Cross Blood Donor.
Ramona is survived by her 4 daughters: Mary (Norm) Colcord of Janesville, Barbara Arnold of Chetek, WI, Helen (John) Nevins of Janesville, and Rosanne (Tom) Nelson of Jacksonville, FL; a sister, Dorothy Mikleton of Rockford, IL; a brother, Paul Mueller of Sioux City, IA; 12 grandchildren: Luke Arnold, Leanne Dyer, Laura Rompot, Michael Nevins, James Nevins, Colleen Shelby, Joseph Nevins, Catherine Nelson, Jacqueline Nelson, Nancy Nelson, Ann Howell, and Rita Warner; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Ramona was predeceased by 2 sisters and a brother.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Oct. 10, 2005 at 5:00 p.m. at ST. JOHN VIANNEY CHURCH. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Burlington, WI. Visitations will be at ST. JOHN VIANNEY CHURCH from 3.00 p.m. until time of the funeral Mass at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a Rosary to be recited at 4:30 p.m. and a one hour visitation will be at the church on Sunday from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m. HANSEN FUNERAL HOME, JANESVILLE is handling arrangements.
