John Tenhagen, 91, Burlington, died Wednesday (Dec. 21, 1983) at the Geneva Manor Nursing Home in Lake Geneva.
The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph (Gertrude Vessling) Tenhagen, he was born March 16, 1892 in Burlington.
On Feb. 11, 1918 be married Clara Richter. She died on Feb. 6, 1959.
The couple farmed in Kenosha and Racine Counties and moved to Burlington in 1957.
He was an Army veteran of World War I and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Surviving are two sons, Robert and Raymond, and three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Rosemary) Roanhaus, Mrs. Donald (Kathryn) Schmidt Sr., and Mrs. Andrew (Lucille) Lois Sr., all of Burlington; a brother, William, Burlington; 19 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
TENHAGEN—Funeral services for the late John Tenhagen, formerly of Burlington, who passed away Dec. 21st, will be held on Fri., Dec. 23rd at 11:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Burlington, with burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call on Thurs. from 4-9 P.M. at the McCarthy-Koening Funeral Home, 101 E. State St., Burlington. Vigil Services at 8 P.M. on Thursday.
