Betty Lou Tenhagen, 76, passed away at Mount Carmel Medical and Rehabilitation Center on Monday, December 24, 2001.
She was born in Belvidere, Ill. on June 10, 1925 to Harold and Mildred Marie Kelley. She spent her early life in Belvidere, Ill. Following marriage, she resided in Burlington and had been a lifetime resident of the area. On September 15, 1954, in Waukegan, Ill., she was united in marriage to Robert "Bud" Tenhagen, who preceded her in death on May 25, 1984.
She received her education in Byron High School in Illinois. She was a Homemaker.
Surviving are daughters, Wendy (Hank) Tenhagen-Muro of Williamsburg, Va. and Kelley Ann Tenhagen in Lake Geneva; sons, Robert Scott Tenhagen of Genoa City and Michael John (Lisa)Tenhagen of Burlington; daughter-in-law, Nancy Sumner of Hammond, Ill.; eight grandchildren; brother, Robert Kelley of Virginia; and sister, Patricia Ann McCarthy of Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ronald Dean Sumner; and a sister, Joyce Kelley.
Funeral services will be held at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home on Saturday, December 29, 2001, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Larry Williams officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. Memorials suggested to the American Lung Association.
