Services for Marian E. Matthias, 61, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, Readlyn; she died Tuesday (Dec. 29) at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, after a lengthy illness; survivors include her husband, LaVern of Readlyn; her mother, Esther Diercks of Readlyn; three sons, Harvey of Smithland and Leslie and Richard, both of Readlyn; four daughters, Linda Netski of Las Vegas, Nev., Marlene Kuhlman of Dunkerton, Lois Peters of Tripoli and Ellen Matthias of Readlyn; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Clifford Diercks of Sherman, Texas; a sister, Darlene Calligan of Baltimore, Md.; and a half sister, Beata Abbs of Iverness, Fla.; she was preceded in death by a half brother; friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Cleveland Funeral Home, Readlyn, for an hour before service Friday at the church.
