Mary E. Reed age 61 of Prairie du Chien passed away Sun., Feb. 25, 2007 at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital following a year and a half battle with cancer. She was born July 25, 1945 in Decorah, IA, daughter of William and Regina (Kipp) Scholbrock. She married Irwin Reed on Sept. 26, 1964 at St. Gabriel's Church in Prairie du Chien. He preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 2004. Mary worked as a caregiver for Homeward Bound for many years. She is survived by 2 daughters; Sonja Scherf of McGregor, IA and Lanette (Tom) Hemmer of Prairie du Chien, a son Irwin Jr. (Crystal) Reed of Prairie du Chien, a brother Ronald (Corina) Scholbrock of Hazel Green, WI, 2 sisters; Martha Bedward of Boscobel, WI and Irma (Charles) Rosauer of Blue River, WI, 3 grandchildren; Chad Feller, Chris Koecke and Ryan Scherf, sisters in law; Lenice Scholbrock of Redding, CA and Dorothy Scholbrock of Festina, IA, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister Clara Mae Hageman, 3 brothers; Ralph, Francis and John Scholbrock and a nephew William Bedward.
A Memorial Service will be Fri., March 2, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie du Chien, WI, with Rev. John Wambach S.J. officiating. Interment will be held privately at a later date in the Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call on Fri., March 2, 2007 from 11:00 AM until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
