DOLORES M. WALKER

 

Dolores M. Walker: 86 years old, formerly of Silver Lake,WI and the Towers in Kenosha, WI passed away Friday March 1, 2013 at Clairidge House, Kenosha, WI. She was born May 26, 1926 in Burlington, WI the daughter of the late Bernard and Frances (Robers) Busch. Dolores was a former member of the VFW Post # 3875 Ladies Auxiliary, Silver Lake, WI, the Kenosha Senior Citizens Center Computer Club, Intergenerational Fair-Senior Volunteer Program, Western Kenosha Co. Historical Society and A.B.L.E. Before her retirement in 1991, Dolores started her career as Deputy Village Clerk and Administrative Assistant to the Village Board of Silver Lake, WI, and had served as Village Clerk and Treasurer. Dolores was accomplished at: tatting, knitting, seamstress work, and gardening. On December 1, 1945 she married Charles Walker at St. Peter Church, Spring Grove, IL, and he preceded her in death on January 20, 2012.

Survivors include: three daughters: Jeannie (Gene) Knutson of Elkhorn, WI, Terry (Tom) Walker-Wedell of Antioch, IL, and Mary (John) Rader of Wildwood, IL; four grandchildren: Karen (Eric) Neusen, Dale Knutson, Kyle Rader, and Nora Rader; three great-grandchildren: Luke, Emma, and Leah; siblings: Leon Busch, Evie Elfmann, Patty Miller and Jennie Vierke; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brothers Dick, Jim, and Jack.

Funeral Services will be held 11:30AM Saturday March 9, 2013 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) Antioch, IL 60002, with visitation beginning at 9:30AM. A luncheon will follow. Feel free to wear Dolores’s favorite color pink to the visitation and service. Dolores’s urn will be placed by her husband in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, WI at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Alliance are appreciated in Dolores’s memory. Please sign the online guest book at www.strangfh.com.
